2015 MOPAR NATIONALS

This year at the nationals we had our very own 1970 Challenger convertible.  It is a numbers matching 383-4 barrel car.  We did restore it did to complete factory specs and planed on using the car as the After Hours Restorations mascot.  However, after taking 1st place in the original class we received an offer and decided to let the Challenger go to a new home.  1st place at the nationals 2 years in a row.

MIKE RIEHL'S ALL MOPAR SHOW 2014

On September 27, 2014 Mike Riehl's Chrysler Jeep dealership hosted their 11th all mopar car show.  Of course After Hours Restorations had to show their support by bringing the 70 Challenger convertible we recently restored.  The staff at Mike Riehl's did a great job hosting the show and also do a great job supplying us with the parts we need to restore these awesome cars.  Their parts department has a restoration section that is basically like a mini Year One.  It is great to have a local parts source like that for us.  The Challenger showed well earning a best of show award!

  2013 MOPAR NATIONALS

It is hard to believe another year has gone by.  The Mopar Nationals is one of my favorite events so I am always excited when the month of August comes around.  This year we entered the 1971 Plymouth GTX that we restored in 2012.

I am very proud to announce the GTX earned first place in the "original" class.  Also, Mopar Action magazine invited the GTX to a remote location for a professional photo shoot while at the Nationals.  It will be featured soon in an upcoming issue.  I had a great time as always and it was great talking with old friends and meeting new mopar enthusiast.

I would like to thank the owner of the GTX for hauling it up all the way from Texas.  Thanks Rich!  Also, a special thanks to Cliff the editor of Mopar Action for the opportunity to be featured in his awesome magazine!

NOVEMBER 2012

After a detailed 11 month restoration at After Hours Restorations the 1971 Plymouth GTX made its debut at the MCACN in Chicago.  As you may remember this is the same GTX which was in our 30 day body and paint / tech section.

The MCACN (Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals) is a prestigious show which hosts one of the finest muscle car displays in the county.  Held Annually at the Donald E Stephen Convention Center every November showing the finest examples of muscle car power.

This was a special occasion for After Hours Restorations.  In addition to the debut the GTX was being judged in the concourse class and also being presented to its owner Rich Warner from Arlington Texas for the very first time.

As expected Rich was blown away by the restoration performed on his GTX.  The car was restored to factory original specs just the way it rolled off the assembly line.  You are looking at a numbers matching, date coded, part numbered restoration.  This is by far one of the nicest 71 GTX’s in existence!

Some of our readers may have noticed the 1966 Hemi Charger parked next to the GTX.  This is the car After Hours Restorations restored last year and displayed at The Muscle Cars at the Mansion show in Beverly Hills California last year.  This Charger was also featured in our May of 2012 Chrysler Power magazine.

The Hemi Charger was also judged at the MCACN.  Both the GTX and the Hemi Charger earned GOLD awards in the concourse class.  In addition to the GOLD award the GTX also earned a PLATINUM award and was named the best restored Plymouth in the concourse class.

OCTOBER 2011

In October 2011, After Hours Restorations had the opportunity to display the 1966 Hemi Charger at the Muscle Cars at the Mansion Show in Los Angeles, CA. It was a great feeling of accomplishment having my restoration parked next to some of the finest restored cars in the country. I am very gracious for the opportunities given to me this year. Not many people can say they drove a Hemi Charger up Hugh Hefner’s drive way, parked on his front lawn, and partied in his backyard! Click here to see more on this vehicle's restoration.
